Minnesota Wire & Cable Co. (MWCC) is an ISO 9001/EN 46001 certified, vertically integrated manufacturer of custom-made wire and cable assemblies. MWCC serves customers throughout the world in all types of industries including defense contracting, medical devices, and telecommunications. The company stresses customer relationships and a commitment to the community that its founder, Fred Wagner, held when he launched the company four decades ago.
As a custom manufacturing house, MWCC prides itself upon the ability to take a customer's concept from design to delivery. MWCC's corporate headquarters includes its development center, a complete manufacturing facility with an in-house tool and design shop, and full engineering capabilities. In addition, the St. Paul headquarters includes wire and cable extrusion, molding and cut, strip and terminations options.
Eau Claire, Wisconsin is the home to MWCC's manufacturing facility and offers coiling, molding, and assembly. Both facilities have combined to offer unique advantages to MWCC's customers including project development, custom shielding and cabling expertise and quick-turn tooling, molding, and stamping. These, along with other MWCC competitive advantages, have allowed MWCC's customer to get their products to market quickly.
Currently MWCC is involved with one of the United States Army's top priority programs - The Land Warrior (LW) System. LW is a first generation modular, integrated fighting system for infantry soldiers and soldiers in support of the close fight. LOW combines an assortment of up-to-date commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS)/government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) technologies, with some newly developed components and technologies to create a lethal, survivable soldier system linked into the digitized battlefield. LW combines computers, lasers, geolocation, and radios with soldiers' mission equipment to achieve the Army Vision of enhancing the individual soldier's close combat lethality, survivability, and tactical awareness.
MWCC joined the Land Warrior project in October of 2001 and has since added its design and manufacturing processes to the program. With Minnesota Wire & Cable Co.'s help, the Land Warrior system has improved vital areas including ruggedness, reliability, and usability. The system is now in final testing and is scheduled for production in 2004. For its participation in this program, MWCC received recognition from top level military personnel.
MWCC is excited to be part of the defense contracting arena and the opportunity it lends the company to assist the best army in the world. For more information on Minnesota Wire & Cable Co., please visit www.mnwire.com or call (800) 258-6922.
