About us

Minnesota Defense is a division of Minnesota Wire, which has been designing and manufacturing innovative interconnect solutions since 1968.  With in-house facilities supporting engineering, quick-turn tooling, and verification/validation testing, Minnesota Defense masters projects from design to delivery.

Minnesota Defense provides full project development and management services.  As a ISO 13485:1996 certified firm, the company is committed to quality.  Minnesota Defense specializes in designing and manufacturing military interconnect solutions.  For example, the company developed Soldier Interconnectâ„¢ for the U.S. Army's Land Warrior project.  Soldier Interconnect is an integrated system of cables, connectors, and overmolds designed to meet a soldier's unique requirements (e.g. wearable, rugged, and lightweight).  Soldier Interconnect is the only field-tested interconnect solution for soldiers.  It is also the only soldier interconnect solution used in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Minnesota Defense's expertise is in meeting unique interconnect requirements. For example, for the Land Warrior program, the Army required an all-in-one interconnect solution that incorporated FireWire, USB, coaxial, power, and ground.  In addition, Minnesota Defense is a leader in providing interconnect solutions with unmatched EMI/RFI and moisture protection.  Minnesota Defense also understands how to design interconnect solutions that meet field service requirements (e.g. quick-disconnect to support rapid replacement).
